Jeremiah Jobling was featured in the Railway Series story "James and the Bootlace". James makes a hole in his coach that must be repaired using leather bootlace and newspaper. Jeremiah Jobling is the only passenger with leather bootlace, and after an argument with other passengers, reluctantly hands it over.
